Just north of Cambridge, The Red Lion is an attractive ivy-covered 17th-century coaching inn in the tiny village of Stretham. The traditional pub with its black and white photographs of local faces on the walls gives way to a bright modern conservatory serving generous portions of modern British fare, from old favourites such as steak and Guiness pie, salads and burgers to more refined options such as grilled rainbow trout and roast duckling.
